Hello all it's been awhile since I last posted on here but there has been a lot of things going on in my life and for a while I didn't know what post but due to things happening to me it gave me an idea to write this post.
The good thing about books or films is that you know that the villains aren't always real, once you close the book or the credits start rolling it's easy to walk away for the world you have been sucked into knowing that they can never harm you. I know I'm never going to meet Maleficent who can change into a dragon, or Lord Voldemort or even the White Witch,
Some villains do exist though I'm sad to say and it's harder to walk away knowing that there are people like them for example Gaston from Beauty and the Beast, Gaston is a self absorbed man who thinks women are just possessions and will cause physical and emotionally damage to anyone who stops him for getting his way. Gaston is one of the worst villains, in my opinion, because he is just a human, he has no magical powers he is just a man.
I've been going through some bad stuff recently where I have been getting sent hate mail and insults and I get asked by my friends "I don't see why they are attacking you, what have you done wrong?" I just say "Nothing I've Done nothing wrong I've only just decided that I don't need people like that in my life." The fact is villains don't need a good reason to hate you, the evil queen wants to kill Snow White just cause Snow White is prettier than she is, Voldemort wants to kill Harry so he can take over the Wizarding World and the White Witch wants to the kill the Pevensies because she wants to keep being the Queen of Narnia.
What I must remember is that while some villains are real so are the heroes, the people who will drop everything just to help you, and for every villain in my world there is 5 heroes in my life. Anyone who knows me will know I'm not one for being saved ever since I was a child I have been very stubborn that I will be the one to save myself, I never wanted to be the damsel in distress waiting for her Prince Charming to rescue her. I guess that's way I find it hard to ask for help I have always wanted to prove that I can do it by myself. though I know the heroes will always have my back.
I've been told many things about me especially my temper, for example it's not when I'm yelling that I most angry it's when I'm quiet and there is fire in my eyes or that my temper is like wild fire quick to ignite and almost impossible to put out. My favourite is that I stand on the front line alone but know that I have a whole army behind me.
That's all for today, I hope you enjoyed this post.
Until next time

I've hit a wall
Ok so maybe I haven't actually hit a wall but I sure have felt like it these past few days, yes it's true I have writer's block isn't it strange one minute your head could be full of ideas but the second you put pen to paper your mind goes blank as if someone has deleted everything in your head. How frustrating is that?
I hate having an idea and then not know how to word it, it feels like I have a black hole between my mind and hand sucking every idea from my brain. I have a habit of taking out my frustration out on something oh yes I have thrown my pen across the room, ripped up pages from my notebook, I have ran my hand through my hair so many times I look like I've been dragged through a hedge backwards and I also take my frustration out on people snapping at them for no reason, in my defence though not many people understand how extremely frustrating writer's block can be. The question I get asked the most is "How can you not know what to say?" I stare at them blankly and say "Have you never not known what you want to say?" and they reply "Well of course but only when it's something important not like a blog or a book"
That is what I don't get about some people they don't know how important a blog or a book can be to someone it's way to express yourself when you are not sure what to say, it's a way to feel more confident than you do in your day to day life and in a way it can feel like your child because you pour so much of yourself into it and it starts as such a little thing and then you get to watch it grow everyday.
Now this isn't the first time I've had writer's block and it certainly won't be the last, what you have to remember is to not let it get the best of you when I look back at the first drafts of my book and fan fiction I can tell which bits I wrote while trying to battle writer's block. I see it mainly in my filler chapters where I can see where my characters are going but not quite sure on how to get them there and when I have wrote it I look at it and think "Not bad not my best work but it will do I guess"
I need to stop doing that now obviously I'm not going to write a masterpiece on my first try, no matter how much I wish I could, I need to realise that I shouldn't write something and keep it that way just because I can't think of another way to word it that time because it doesn't mean I won't find a better way to write it the next time.
I see writer's block as I brick wall one you have to break through to get to the other side and sure I get knocked back quite a few times but I always get back on my feet and try again, of course it is nice to take a break and forget about writing for a while but the important thing to remember is that you don't stop trying to break through that wall.
Don't let the fear of being knocked down stop you from trying to break through the wall because one day I promise you will break down that wall.

I'm going on an adventure
Finally back in the right world where I belong. I've just had to deal with the small mindedness of some people, who say I need to get my head out of the clouds and live in the real world. Some people just don't understand why I read and write so much, sure they read but not like I do they don't see the characters as their friends or the places as their homes, I guess to them books are just a way to pass the time. People say books are torture and yes that's true, they make you want to live in that world but imagine if you could whether you want to go to Hogwarts, solve mysteries with your favorite detective or go through your wardrobe to Narnia. Right now I'm on an adventure to claim back the lonely mountain from Smaug the terrible, I'm travelling in the company of Thorin Oakenshield and his kin, Bilbo Baggins and Gandalf the grey. Bilbo and I have just caught up the Thorin and company, Bilbo is complaining about forgetting his handkerchief, I chuckle to myself at the sight of Bilbo on his pony drowning the green hood and cloak that Dwalin has lent him as the hobbit has left his, along with his handkerchief, at home as I ride along side them I wonder if all hobbits are forgetful or is it just Bilbo. I can't help but look at the wonderful world around me, where such things as hobbits, dwarves, wizards and that the adventure is to slay a dragon. I sometimes forget how much freedom comes with writing a book for example if you want someone to fly then they can fly, if you want a character to be good with a sword they become worthy of a place as a knight of the round table and if you want the sky to change colour every five minutes then it can, the possibilities are endless. When it comes to your characters they can be anyone you want, the girl you hated at high school has become the Wicked Queen and the boy you like but you are too shy to say anything to him becomes your Prince Charming.
When I write I'll use people I don't know sometimes I use their personality for one of my characters or my characters may have a conversation I overheard on a bus or in a coffee shop. My main point of inspiration is my friends who always wind up splattered in the pages of my book, though I normally use my friends as the heroes I sometimes use them as the villains not because they are evil or cruel just sometimes their personalities match. My friend Nat for example I use some of the things he says for my villain as I can hear their voice when he talks, his mannerisms as well are very good for a villain. One thing I have learnt in books that seems ever constant is that all magic comes with a price for example at the stroke of midnight Cinderella's dress turns back into rags and the once beautiful carriage becomes a pumpkin once more.
Sadly I must end this chapter here as I'm falling behind the dwarves, Bilbo and Gandalf and I fear that Thorin isn't a patient man and this adventure needs my undivided attention.
Before I go may I ask if you could live in one book, which one would it be? Leave your answers in the comments below I would love to know which book you would like to live in :)

Welcome to To read would be an awfully big adventure
Hello I'm Heather and I've started this blog because I never know what I think until I read what I say, is anyone else like this? My head feels like I have a whole dictionary crammed inside and all the words are shouting over each other desperate to be heard. I always have to pull out my notebook or log on to my laptop and write down what my thoughts are trying to say, I even hear myself arguing with them saying "All right one at a time" or "Calm down you will get your turn" Is that strange?
The only time I feel my thoughts calm down is when I'm reading, as soon as I open a book they settle down like children when it's story time so caught up in what's happening in the book they forget what it was they were trying to say. So this is my blog a place where my thoughts can run free like they do through the pages of a book, I named this blog after my favourite book Peter Pan it was the first book I remembering reading and every time I read it what I now see isn't just the story of the boy who wouldn't grow up and his adventures but a younger version of me, a little girl reading under the covers with a torch dreaming of the day Peter would come knocking on her window and teach her to fly, that little girl is caught in the pages of the book always off having adventures. I hope one day that when I'm older I will see my now 21 year old self in the book and that I will continue to see younger versions of me as I get older till I'm in my nineties and sitting in a rocking chair cause even then I won't have grown up. I will always be the little girl under the covers dreaming of the day Peter takes me to Neverland.
So this was my first post I hoped you liked it and I hope to be posting at least once a week if you have any suggestions about what you would like me to blog about, please feel free to leave me a comment.
